qualified ER/Trauma RN in Broken Bow, Nebraska, 68822 Pay
Information $27 to $43 per hour About The Position SIGNIFICANT
DUTIES A. Initiates assessment/reassessment based on the
patient---s needs per nursing standards, organization policy and
procedures. B. Synthesizes pertinent patient data to develop
nursing care plans and identify nursing priorities for care and
desired outcomes. C. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team
to coordinate and provide patient care. D. Demonstrates knowledge
and skill in nursing theory and ability to learn and develop
competence in patient care across the lifespan. E. Demonstrates the
ability to learn new practices and has the ability to practice in
multiple settings within the rural hospital --- medical/surgical,
pediatric, neonatal, emergency and skilled care. F. Integrates
appropriate standards of care into the patient---s plan of care
based on the diagnosis and age-specific needs. G. Executes,
directs, supervises and/or assigns other staff members to perform
therapeutic and or supportive interventions. H. Evaluate the
patient---s response to and effectiveness of interventions. I.
Evaluates the patient---s progress toward established outcome. J.
Incorporates cultural considerations into the plan/delivery of
care. K. Includes family and/or significant others in the care of
the patient as appropriate. L. Documents patient care and related
information according to Melham procedures for documentation M.
Facilitates a patient---s transition to next level of care
including admission, discharge, and transfers. N. Demonstrates
knowledge of EMTALA regulation and paperwork. O. Assumes
responsibility in a shared or delegated assignment and supports
team member---s practice through timely communication. P. Services
as a role model to colleagues, students, and other care providers
Q. Actively participates in continued learning opportunities and
continued self-development pertinent to all of emergency department
nursing. R. Proficient in the management of provider orders in CPOE
and in the order management system S. Maintains effective
communication channels with the entire healthcare team. T. Acts as
a resource to the healthcare team. U. Performs other related duties
as assigned. V. Performs focused nursing assessment for presenting
condition: may use the patient/family, EMS chart, community
agencies as a source of information. W. Completes patient triage to
identify patient medical treatment needs and intervention level.
Records patient triage and supports the initiation of the patient
log via tracking board including updates of medical diagnoses at
disposition. X. Demonstrates knowledge of the level IV trauma
center regulations and treatment protocols of TNCC for
stabilization and transfer of the trauma patient. Y. Supports and
develops provider discharge plan of care by implementing
patient/family education based on ED diagnosis, and individualized
needs, including actions to take if condition worsens or if the
patient condition does not meet Melham admission criteria, supports
patient stabilization and transfer to a higher level of care.
27188023EXPTEMP Job Requirements PRIMARY FUNCTION The Emergency
Department Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for: ---Planning
and coordinating the delivery of quality nursing care for patients
in the emergency departments and acute care utilizing the nursing
process ---Providing and/or delegating care, evaluating patient
response, documentation, and effective communication
---Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team ---Maintaining
standards for professional nursing practice ---Providing and
supervising the delivery of care in the emergency department
---Supervising Licensed Practical Nurses and /or other support
staff in the delivery of patient care as described in Nebraska
Statute 38. Supervision A. Reports directly to the Emergency
Department Manager B. Reports indirectly to the House Supervisor
and other managers covering the department. C. Delegates and
directs assigned shift caseload team which may be comprised of
RN---s, NSS LPN and NSS CNA. Qualifications A. Graduate of School
of Nursing B. Current Nebraska State License or Compact license as
a Registered Nurse required. C. Clinical and/or work nursing
experience in a hospital with ability to perform duties in the
emergency department setting is preferred. D. Professional
knowledge of nursing practice, and regulation to support patient
care delivery. E. Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire and
maintained. F. ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire and
maintained. G. TNCC required within one year of hire. H. NRP
preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. I. Job
functions must be performed on site with regular attendance. J. ICS
100 and 200 or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire. GENERAL

knowledge of risk management, quality review reports, Sentinel
