  • A large system in Nebraska/Iowa are looking for Night ICU RN's.
  • Open Heart Trained.
    • Job Requirements

    • Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.
      • Schedule Information
      • 13 Weeks
      • Every other Weekend/Holiday
      • 0630-1830, 1830-0630
      • Self scheduling for core staff, travelers added in. Unable to guarantee block scheduling
      • Rotating based on weekend group
      • Typically to PCU, possibly to MedSurg
      • 3 shifts of unit/department specific orientation
        • Unit Specific Information
        • # of Beds: 33 beds, average daily census is 16
        • Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 for adults, 1:2-4 for Peds
        • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults and Pediatrics, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, respiratory distress
        • Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes
        • Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Any cardiac drip, insulin, sedation
        • Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Health Support Tech M-F 0800-1630
        • RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: Nasal cannula to vent
        • Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: RNs required to read and interpret
          • Additional Details
          • Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
          • WILL NOT APPROVE BLOCKED SCHEDULING OR SAME SCHEDULE/SHIFTS, MUST BE FLEXIBLE AND WILLING TO FLOAT AND WORK WHEN NEEDED.
